If you’re new to Ultimate Breakdown and just hearing about the company, there are bound to be a ton of questions to you have about how the company operates. In the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) section, you’ll find answers to most of your question. Enjoy!
It is true that other websites like Khan Academy and the YouTube channel Crash Course already exist, but the vision for UB is a different task altogether.
While other free education websites focus on mainly the subjects, the mission of UB is not only to create content for different subjects, but to categorize the entire internet.
Anyone can find pretty much all the information for free on the internet, it just takes a little digging.
With that being said, I am a college student that has gotten tired of finding the perfect information to help me with my studies, only to be disappointed when I hit a pay wall…especially if I have to subscribe monthly to access the content.
Having people pay for knowledge limits the amount of people who can obtain access to new discoveries.
If it is all out there for free, progress in new discoveries may become a tad bit faster.
This part is a work in progress and I am thinking of various options.
To support the mission of keeping this a free source of education, UB may have to ask for donations to keep the company running and produce content as fast as possible.
Selling merchandise is another option, and gaining sponsors/grants may be another helpful option.
If you do feel like supporting the mission then don’t hesitate to donate 😀 we could use the assistance to hire more help.
Currently for profit because it was the easiest type of company to make right now, but there are plans to have a non-profit division of the company.
The plan was to become non profit from the beginning (which makes the most sense for a FREE education company) but you need what is known as a board of directors, and I have no plans for that right now until after I graduate college.
This brings us to our next question.
Currently, 1 person is running the entire show.
Research, narration, script-writing, animation, video editing, marketing, and everything else.
Haha yeeeah if I do this all by myself forever, then the mission will never get completed.
There are definitely plans to expand after a bit of fundraising.
The ultimate mission is to create easy-to-understand videos on every topic imaginable, so if we could do that as quick as possible that would be great.
Partnering with other brands/influencers would be a huge help, and making the world easier to understand would be the ultimate long term goal!
